My kid is, for lack of a better word, obsessed with road signs so I thought it would be the perfect theme for his birthday party this year. I had the idea to make some road sign invitations and sleeves to hold them. At the end of this post, I’ve placed the printable high resolution JPGs if you would like to download them.

Here are the finished road sign invitations without sleeves.

Here are the finished road sign invitations with the sleeves.
I created the signs and insides in photoshop and printed them out on white cardstock. Cut them out leaving the sides that are touching ‘uncut’.
Then I scored along that hinge to make a cleaner fold.

Cut and Scored Invitations.
These are the insides that I cut out and just glued to the inside.

The insides get cut out and glued inside. The Curvy Road inside I had to cut off the black border completely to fit inside the card.
The envelope sleeves, I cut on the outside grey lines.

Then on the inside lines, I scored the grey lines that were left.

Cut and scored envelope sleeve.
For a cleaner corner, I cut a small ‘V’ at the center fold line.

Cut triangles at the center fold.
I just folded them inwards and double side taped the seam.

Fold and adhere seams together. I then had to cut off some of the top to make the sleeve 3.75 inches so that the sign fit all the way to the top.
The envelopes were alot longer than I needed to fit the sign invitation so I cut the height to be 3.75 inches off the top.
Then I used my 1 1/2 circle punch to make the cut in the center.

Cut out a half circle in the middle. I like how they turned out actually.
Here are the files. They are high resolution (150dpi – 8.5 x 11 )

This is me.
OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE these invitations! My son is completely OBSESSED with traffic signs and I thought he was the only one! I was wondering if you had any other street sign ideas you incorporated into your party. This is by far the most difficult theme I’ve had to plan thus far! Thanks so much

Thank you Carrie! I posted a 2nd time with more details about the party if you want to check it out. In there I explain the other things I did for the party. You might like the idea about how I decorated the table.
Either search ‘road sign’ in the search field located in the upper left, or here is the link to the 2nd road sign birthday party post.
