Americana Log Cabin Quilt – Stage Three

 

Here is another progress report on my log cabin quilt.  Never stop rearranging your blocks until you get that ‘perfect’ feeling!

Which I did with this arrangement.

 

At first, I had this arrangement below in mind from the very beginning…but once I got them sewn and laid out it just didn’t seem right…

Then I tried a more uniform layout with all the stars fabric in the upper left….still didn’t get the aha moment…

This is it! I like it because the blocks have a pattern all their own, but then the groups of 4 also have a nice block pattern layout to them.

For this pattern though, I had to make an extra row (to be 24 blocks) to make a even amount of ‘4’s’ to group together like this. Luckily I bought extra of just the right fabric…it must have been meant to be.
