Baby Foot Shower Card
I have tons of photos that I’ve been taking (even video of a technique that I will be editing soon for posting!) but haven’t had the chance until now to start posting them. This was a baby shower card that I made for my niece a couple of weeks ago that I wanted to share.
Here is the outside of the card.
Here is how the project progressed
I used a 6 x 6 (folded) piece of watercolor paper for my card base. I then took my largest nestabilities circle die to cut out the opening in my card base, and one a couple smaller to cut out the circle that would fit inside out of a dark tan cardstock I had.
My hand didn’t fit on the circle that I cut out, so I asked my 4 year old to help me. He made a fist, then I inked the side with my Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink and pressed it into place. (Afterwards, I asked him to hold his hand there so I could take a picture and he actually did it! ) Then, I took my finger and just dabbed each toe in place.
For the inside, I put some coordinating earth toned paper (DCWV Linen Closet) for the background that would show through the hole in the front. I placed some dimensional adhesives to the back of the baby foot circle.
I was sure to close the card before placing the center circle so that I could get the placement centered.
Looked a little plain on the front, and I needed a place for a sentiment, so I used my tiny hole punch to make a groove that I could put my string into on both sides to keep it in place. on the string, I tied a string and some punched circles and that was it! Easy card!
Thanks for visiting!
p.s. I’m going to be reworking my categories on my blog. I’ve come to realize that having a category ‘papercrafts’ is just too general so I’ll be reorganizing some of my posts. Thinking about updating my design as well! Goals Goals Goals! …and THIS close to christmas! If time allows…we’ll see what gets done 🙂
