Burlap Runner
Trying to play with textures in my decor as i’m slowly and finally finding I think what is ‘my style’ for my kitchen. Decided to make a runner for my hutch out of some burlap I didn’t know I had on hand in my fabric stash.
As you can see, I had a huge piece of burlap in my stash! I found a dollar sticker on it so obviously picked it up somewhere along the line at a yard sale lol! So instantly had the idea to make a runner since it was plenty long enough.
I cut out the size I needed with my fabric cutter and left about an inch and a half to turn in on all sides and pinned them.
I had this cotton Connecting Threads thread from there Americana color scheme pack I had gotten to use for the Americana quilt I’ve been in the middle of making and saw that it matched well. I knew I couldn’t run it under the sewing machine so I did a straight and large basting stitch all the way around.
In all it probably took about 30 minutes to make. Piece of cake 🙂
