For the past few years I’ve been bothered that I haven’t posted consistently on my websites. Up until the end of last year, I had 3 websites I was going to maintain, but I just couldn’t keep them up with RF. So I had to make a decision on whether to keep IntoTheEther.net or LifeStock.co.
Intotheether.net is a domain and website i’ve had since 2004. It’s special to me and it’s where I share all my creative ‘stuff’.
Lifestock.co is a domain I was ‘going’ to sell stock photography but a year or two after i created it i noticed there are so many free stock photo websites out there that I don’t think there is really a market for stock photos anymore so I turned it into a sharing portfolio of photos site.
Then I thought, well since this ITEN is my ‘anything creative’ blog, I can just as easily share my photography on my blog under a photography category more consistently and do away with the extra expense. Especially since .co domain names are so much more expensive to have.
That way when I have ‘anything’ to post, I can keep ITEN updated with all the creative things I have time to do and share which is a bit of a relief!
So in the next couple weeks, I’ll be grabbing the posts from Lifestock and bringing them over here to consolidate my blogs.
I think I also want to streamline ITEN to be easier to navigate. I think there are too many categories but not quite sure how yet i’m going to organize them.
Consolidating my blogs, I kinda like the idea of so that it’s a surprise what I’ll be posting next. Photography, DIY, Craft, Costumes, Sewing, Home Decor, Hauls, Advice, Daily Life. I know I’ve heard before pick one niche to write a blog about, but I’m into too many things so why should my blog be ‘that’ way?
I’ll leave you with a quote I found that I like about making decisions:
“How will you know if it’s the right decision if you never make it?”
“Stay committed in your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.”
“You cannot make progress without making decisions.”
