How to Hang a Wreath On A Wooden Door
I have a wooden front door. I never hung a wreath on it cause those suction cup contraptions just NEVER worked for me! So today it came to me how i could hang a wreath with ribbon and a staple gun! But that isn’t all…i made it in a way that i could change out the wreath for the season and leave the hanger there.
My wooden door is painted a navy blue. So i looked through my stash of ribbon and found this one that came from a blanket i had purchased that was wrapped with a ribbon with velcro. I kept it because I never throw anything away you never know when you’ll need a ribbon with velcro on it…eh hem. …and thought it would work perfectly!
First, you take a nice, wide ribbon that matches your door color so it blends in, sew your velcro pieces (hopefully matching) like this to the ends. You could also finish your ends like they are here so they don’t fray after continued use.
Then, wrap them around your wreath like so. Make sure you make your ribbon long enough by measuring the door first and how far down you want your wreath to hang.
Then, turn your ribbon on the wreath so that the half way point of the fold is what you’ll be stapling to the top of the door. Be sure to look at your door top and make sure there is a small amount of clearance so that the staple will not effect the door closing. I made sure to hammer the staple in as far as it would go.
I stapled it and i now have a hanging wreath on my door for christmas time!
I simply open the velcro to take this wreath off, and then hang another wreath for other times of year.
Now i have another project to add to the list…make a wreath in time for the new year.
