How to Wrap a Beer Gift as a Pack of Cigarettes
Jodi and I did it again! We wrapped another can gift at Christmas time! This time as a pack of cigarettes’ WITH the cigarettes!
This doesn’t have to be beer of course, you can do this by giving a gift of a canned beverage or really anything. You could fill these tubes of paper inside the cigerettes with gifts.
The first step we did was measure 4 cans stacked and then cut the paper leaving a little at each end, for the filter and for the tobacco.
I found some yellow cello plastic that we cut and taped around the top which looked great as the filter ha! Then we stuffed some paper towels at the end to mimick the filter as well.
Then on the other end, we had some brown packing paper that we cut and crumpled at the other end and they looked just like tobacco. Theses ended up being at least 3 ft long and we made 9 of them.
The box is a little more tough to explain how we did it. Basically, we had a really large box that we figured out how big we needed it to be to hold the 9 cigerettes. Then we cut it down and taped it.
Then we took the same white paper we wrapped the cigerettes with and taped that all around so that they can hold the cigerettes. Here are a couple shots from that process.
We needed now a cigarette box label for the front. I designed in photoshop a Marlboro front but applying it to the gift I put ‘Marlbeero’ LOL So I put it on my projector, and shined it onto a piece of paper straight up and Jodi was able to trace it out on the paper. Jodi had the great idea of instead of ‘bells’ she put beer mugs with holly! Then she took it home and painted it.
Being down to the wire! The sunday before Christmas eve which is when we exchange gifts, she came over so we could finish the rest. We taped the painting to the front, put the lid over the cigerettes. I had plastic cello that we heat sealed with a hair dryer at first then we used a heat gun to wrap it tightly to the box. We were done! Just in time!
She thought it was neat and fun! I think she thought this was it until we told her to open the plastics wrap and that is when she saw the cigarettes’ inside Ha! Too fun!
