Repainted Pretty Metal Sewing Box
Some ‘antiquers’ may not like that i repainted this vintage metal sewing box, but I’m just not one for extra shabby chic type decor. Subtle Shabby is okay but some things I’ve seen go beyond the word ‘chic’! [Stepping down from my soapbox]. Today, i wanted to show you my pretty little metal sewing box that i got from my sister about a year ago now. It had been sitting for a year in the ‘want to paint’ box…unused and procrastinated about…well one sunny summer day a month or so ago, i decided to paint it a latte gold color I had on hand.
Here is the red color it used to be. Scrapes and scratches just abounded all over which was way too many for my taste.
As you can see, i also painted my hutches drawer handles the same color to match.
Kinda messy now that i’m looking at it in the pic, but definitely holds it’s share of things. The bobbin holder ring inside pulls out and the bottom holds all the rest.
I’m always looking for interesting ways to store supplies. In an upcoming post I think i’ll share the great containers i’ve come across in a post about organization.
A sneak peek, is the nest (sitting behind the metal box) that I use to hold some fabric scraps 🙂
