Three Months…111 Songs and Videos Later (And a new website design)

Three months later and 111 songs later and I’m still making music that I love and want to share  <3

First and foremost, last night I stayed up late to work on a new website design. I decided to put the focus on my music first, blog second, and store third.  I think the layout is much cleaner and easier to navigate.

Regarding my music, I’m taking a moment right now to just reflect on all that has happened since Feb. 28th when I posted my first 3 music videos.

On Feb. 28th, I started with 107 subscribers.  In March, 23 people subscribed. In April, 48 people subscribed. In May so far 17.

This is interesting because it also coincides with the amount of videos I made and posted for each month.

Month Videos Posted New Subscribers
March 38 23
April 47 48
May (as of 5/25) 25 17

What changed was in May, I had the idea to spread out my videos to scheduling out videos 1 per day. In April, I had no schedule and posted live right away when I was excited to share a new video I had just made. I would finish, on weekends, 2 or 3 songs so I posted multiples some days.

Side note, although another thing I did in April was created shorts for all my music videos and shared teasers for each of the music videos on my Facebook Into the Ether page, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

What I learned from that is I get more shorts views on my YouTube shorts and Instagram shorts. TikTok randomly gets views (10 videos have 0 views to one or two having over 100) so I decided to not post on TikTok for the time being.

My focus to share my music is YouTube, My ITEN Facebook page, and Instagram. Instagram and YouTube gets the most views and interactions (likes/comments) on my Shorts videos. I can’t tell from the analytics, but maybe the Shorts helped people find my channel to watch the full videos.

Now that May has a week left, I realize after such a regimented schedule of 1 per day, I think I prefer to post when a video is done even if that means posting multiple videos in one day.

It’s more gratifying to make a video I’m proud of and wanting to share it right away rather then scheduling a video to post a week from now.

I love learning about YouTube, and all the analytics. However, my focus really while doing this will always be on making music and music videos that I love and want to listen to over and over again and then sharing it with everyone!

My current subscriber count is 193 subscribers. Thank you to all 88 people who have subscribed in the past few months!

Thank you for liking, subscribing, commenting! Have a good day!

I’ll finish this blog post with one of my latest videos that is a favorite of mine!
