The Story Behind My Channel and Music Name
Today I wanted to share a bit about the name behind my website and YouTube channel — both my personal username and the name I use for my music project and videos I create.
iiSwanSongii
This has been my online name before 2006, and it’s what I named my YouTube channel way back then. The name comes from the old myth that swans are silent their whole lives but sing one beautiful, haunting song at the end — a swan song.
While it’s just a legend I don’t think of this in the negative sense but as a reminder not to wait until it’s too late to do the things you want to do or create something meaningful. Every day is your chance to do what you love — to make your own song now, not later. That’s the spirit behind the name.
🌌 Into The Ether™
“Into The EtherTM” began as the name of my personal website, intotheether.net, which I’ve had since 2004 (before that I registered intotheether.org…for some reason lol). Back then, I often heard artists and musicians talk about getting ideas “from the ether” — as if creativity flows from some invisible, universal cloud. That image stuck with me.
I’ve always imagined creativity like that: something we reach into, something created and shared. Over the years, my website became a space where I shared all kinds of creative projects.
So when I started making music in February, Into The EtherTM felt like the perfect name to gather all of it under — a kind of umbrella for everything I make. The music, the videos, etc. — it all comes from that same creative space.
The Eclipse Emblem
At the Heart of Into The EtherTM
A symbol of transformation, resilience, and mystery. Inspired by the moment the world holds its breath in total eclipse, this design represents the balance between light and shadow, struggle and strength. This is the common thread that represent what my songs are about.
So this mark, that when you wear it, it is placed over your heart where we all feel the music we love, are for those who rise through silence, move through storms, and create from both the seen and unseen. If you are a fan of Into The EtherTM Music…wear it with meaning.
