The ONLY at home blonde hair color that didn’t pull red
About 16 years ago now, i went to a hair salon to get my hair colored blonde. It was successful but ever since then, I tried and tried to find an at home hair color that was successful. Loreal Dark Blonde is a great product. For the new year though, i wanted to try something much lighter. Everyone around me adamantly encouraged me to NOT go grey like i originally planned…so i decided to just bite the bullet and go a lighter blonde color and try this Vidal Sassoon Salonist in Light Neutral Blonde.
The pitch is that it’s applied just like in a hair salon where they brush on the roots all around first…then mix in a serum to do the rest of the head or lengths.
I was pleasantly surprised! I knew after the first 10 minute step and checking in the sunlight that my hair was definitely not pulling red…and it was very bright. My mom applied the color for me since it is rather a challenge to do it yourself…so getting someone to help you is definitely a recommendation. This is the picture I took after I added the color. It’s not blonde blonde but it didn’t pull red like other blonde colors.
It gave me a light brown that looks much more natural in my opinion (insert jeannie with the light brown hair music here! ha!)
Target had some boxes of this on clearance for $6. I saw that it’s $13 at Rite Aid which is the MFRP. So you’ll want to look around. I think though that around $10 bucks for a hair color at home is MUCH better than $100 plus tip at a hair salon!
What hair color have you used recently that you recommend? Have you tried Vidal Sassoon Salonist? How did it go? 🙂
