When I Love Multiple Versions Of A Song
There are times when I create a few different versions of a song that I love but I have to pick one! It happened 4 different times now which I’ll share the videos for each time that happened below and some behind the scenes about each one.
Venom In Velvet
Most recently though, for Venom in Velvet, I had 4 different versions of the song that I loved, but I knew I didn’t want to make videos for all 4 in this instance, so decided on my most, most favorite. That is the one you see I used in the video. However, i still like the other 3 versions so wanted to share them ‘somewhere’ so thought a blog post about this topic.
Whispered Currents
With this song, I had 2 versions that I loved but didn’t want to make 2 separate videos more because of the style of the song, so had the idea to put both on the same video like CDs had hidden bonus tracks at the end unlabeled. I wanted it to be a surprise for anyone who listened to the song since I only mention it at the very bottom with a link in the YouTube description. So if you haven’t heard the 2nd version here is the video.
Iconoclast
This was a new style of music for me that I found alot of great songs in. So wanted to make one of my own. I had 2 great versions one with staccato violins and more different vocal styles in one song including rap, singing, and screaming that I loved. The other was very melodic as well and a bit more screamy but still loved the vocal melody on the chorus that was slightly different. I couldn’t decide so I thought these would be the songs that would require 2 videos. So I wrote the script, used the same script for both, generated the footage in 2 different styles and edited it manually with the lyrics overlay. I love these songs and hope you do too!
Original Version
Dark Noir Version
Glass
This was the very first time this happened. I loved both versions so I had an idea in this instance for the script. The first Glass was about a woman from the future who lived in the high rise part of the city and one day fate put her in the path of a man from the depths. The depths is the part of the city where people worked deep and underground. They fell in love, which was forbidden but they managed to find a way to meet deep in the tunnels that connect and found a way to live happily ever after. That is where Glass 2 comes in. Glass 2 was from the mans point of view and the conclusion where they finally met to be together forever.
Future Instances
So in conclusion, I love when this happens because it’s an opportunity to do something different, so if it happens again, if I decide to not make a 2nd video, I will definitely share here as audio tracks if anyone would like to listen to different versions of the song.
Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy!
