Inexpensive Change of Decor
I’ve been slowly working on a change of style in my kitchen / dining room over the past year. You have to do that sometimes being either limited by funds or taking your time in trying to find just the right ‘pieces’ that you really love rather than buying things just because they fit the style and the price is right. I want to really take my time and this might be the biggest thing I’ve done so far in this transition to french country. This post also doubles as a store review this being my first experience with Fabric.com.
Gingham is used in French country style. Fabric.com was having a sale on home decor fabric and it was the last day of the sale when I was just looking around on their site. I came across these. Fabric.com shows the comparable price as to what it costs on other sites which it said was 9.99 /yd. Their regular price was 4.98 for it. But for the sale it was marked down to $1.99 / yard. How could I not quickly try and figure out how much I needed and order it! Both yellow fabrics were marked down to the $1.99. It said that this was lightweight fabric, so I found some white drapery lining to put on these fabrics. Not on sale, but at $2.98 /yard in my price range.

The gingham material is so soft to the touch, tightly woven, and definetly feels like good quality fabric.
With this experience, I would absolutely try ordering from them again. They seem to always have sales and some of their sales are pretty amazing. Not to mention free shipping on orders over $35 compared to some fabric sites i’ve seen where $200 is needed before you get free shipping…yikes. So if my measurements are right, fabric.com gave me the materials to make two rooms of curtains for only $30 dollars. That makes me happy. Will post progress when I have the nerve to cut into this amazing material. Wish me luck!
