30 Day Photo Challenge: Day 17-On the Shelf

Wanted to show of my slowly growing collection of tin boxes. At least I think they are tin. For many years now, I have been collecting these interesting metal boxes, picking them up at yard sales anywhere from 10 cents to a dollar at the most, ‘just because i like them’ and with no real purpose. Then once I had my craft room, I thought they would be perfect to store craft supplies in.  My pre-requisite for buying these, is they MUST be clean and free of any types of defects like dents, dirt or rust, which all of these are, then I look at it from every angle to decide if I really like the design, and thirdly, most of these (like a bit of a bonus) are all stamped on the bottom that they were made in a different country which I like the idea that they came from other places. Most are made in england, a couple are made in germany.  I have no idea what they were originally created for.  I’m guessing maybe candy? or some other snack food? All I know is that they are functional, I like to look at them and they decorate the room just sitting my my craft room shelf!  🙂
