Assorted Pencil Packs
I really liked a pencil holder idea online from this site and this site so thought i’d make a few with some supplies I had already on hand for my upcoming craft fair.
Here are some christmas themed ones.
Here are some jungle animal themed ones. The cute set of erasers I had on hand lent itself to the color scheme and jungle animal type theme.
I prepared my paper holders first, cut and scored to the correct dimensions with the double sided sticky tape already on them. For me this seems to work better for a more efficient assembly line. Here you can see the set of 4 erasers.
I didn’t have an appropriate stamp that seemed to tie into this theme, so I thought to make the holders more interesting, I’d emboss the bottoms. Spots and Dots Embossing Folder seemed the best fit.
I also proceeded to do all of these ahead of time as you can see below. Then I just fit them all together, wrapped a 20 inch or so piece of raffia around and tied it off. Instead of putting the eraser at the bottom, the raffia formed sort of a shelf so the eraser fit nicely at the top and with the tightness of the bag I put them all in, the eraser didn’t move so thought it was perfect that way.
For the christmas ones, I took a snowflake stamp and used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door to put red on red hint of a pattern.
I then proceeded to assemble each holder before hand.
I used some 2 inch wide white card stock, and Border Punched with Martha Stewarts Ribbon Loop Border Punch on each side. Then adhered it to the holders. I finished them off with some tied coordinating christmas ribbon and placed a christmas eraser at the bottom.
I was able to do all of these in maybe a couple of hours. Great stocking stuffers, or for a little christmas gift for kids to hand out to their classmates.
