Ribbon Storage Part Two!
I think it’s okay to keep trying ideas to organize your craft supplies until you find the one that works.
This is what my ribbon storage looks like now…I am able to get way more ribbon in here than before.
This is what it looked like before with a mixture of the bobbin idea and some of the new reels that I just didnt’ look forward to wrapping each one around those bobbins. Ugh! Wrapping over 80 ribbons reels…ugh again!
I think this bobbin idea is still a good idea that I tried first…however for someone with a small collection. I found out quick, after getting a load of new ribbon that I needed a quicker way to put all that ribbon into my one drawer. My motto to buying supplies is I don’t need what I can’t store. So whatever doesn’t fit in the drawer doesn’t stay. Keeps me and my credit card reigned in 😀
Here are the ponytail rings that you need to keep your ribbon nicely cinched and together in the drawer.
First, tear the paper circles off each side. (see 1 and 2)
Then, squeeze to bend the roll in the middle. This will make ‘most’ ribbon easily pulled off still wound. I say ‘most because a couple of the reels I had the manufacturer stapled the inside end to the roll. Some were just taped.
Then just take a hair band and single or double wrap it around the middle that’s it!
I was able to fit all 80 + rolls of ribbon in my drawer! Um yeah…i’m now set with ribbon for awhile! Hehe! 😉
