Scrapbook Page “In Mama’s Arms”
Tonight I finished a scrapbook page. This one took about a week off and on to complete. The stitching is what took so much time.
I have always said I’d never make a one photo layout but when I saw this picture among others that I took at the same time, it was just the sweet and content look on his face that it just deserved almost to be featured on a page all by itself.
Here is how the page progressed
I cut the lettering with my Cricut Cartridge Plantin Schoolbook.
I pre-punched the holes with my Tim Holtz paper piercer tool to make sewing go quicker.
Here is a close up of the zigzag pattern I did around the main larger blue circle.
I had another idea for some accents. I thought I’d sew a button, then use my small hole punch to punch half circles on the sides to hold the yarn. The buttons are from the bunch I got from oriental trading company. Great assortment of colors and matched perfectly with the paper I used as the base of my page.
Here are the 3 I made to attached below the photo.
The page seemed empty in the corners, so I made this additional elements to attach and sew in a different way. I did just a backstitch all the way around.
I am really happy with this page.
