Another day another 7 rows (quilt 1 for 2011)
Very productive new years weekend. Got my christmas decorations down, house back in order after the holidays, laundry is almost done, and actually had time to sit down and quilt some more on my Antoinette’s Labyrinth Quilt design. All while being sick as a dog since last Thursday! That’s mind over matter.
Seeing more rows now vs. my thoughts after only seeing two rows, I think this might actually work.
I was hoping for a bit more ‘random’ but the same fabric L shapes repeating in the same rows was bound to happen since I wanted to not have to plan out the materials. I think I can live with it though. Since there are so many different fabrics, I don’t think it’s that noticeable.
My seams are now intersecting much more consistantly than in my previous post.
I’ve been catching the seams that would not line up fixing them before I keep going.
I planned the hues rather than the fabric and printed this out as my guide on what hue to grab next from my sorted light, medium, and dark hued fabric stacks.
I’m writing the fabric i use in each block and marking it off to keep track of my progress. 9 Rows done…12 more to go!
Will continue to post progress. Then I know I need to decide if I want to stop at what I have as the blanket, or if I want to make it a bit larger and put a border around the pattern before binding it. Hmmm…decisions decisions. The quilting, right now, I thought i’d sew diagonally to make X stitches across each block. I can’t do that yet though until I decide what backing fabric I should use. Hmmmm….
