Too old to shop where? …what?
When a gal hit’s forty, which is an age when i think most people FINALLY feel comfortable in their own skin, they may start analyzing their wardrobe to try new things and/or make the transition from ‘clothes too young’ to wear. I don’t however think that ANYONE is too old to shop at certain places. At the root of it all, it’s deciding what style’s you like and usually for gals up in years, classic, simple styles I’m learning are best. Of course I think i’ve always gravitated towards classic styles that were not too trendy so that my hard earned bucks could be invested in clothes that I could wear for many years to get my money’s worth that would never go out of style.
Style and cost come hand in hand. Whatever i can find that fits my style and is within my budget is a huge buying guide I live by. The first thing you have to do though, especially at forty, is decide what your style is. Style ideals will dictate your choices better so you can be more choosy when making your selections in a place like Forever 21. …and now we get to why i’m writing a post about this.
Recently, Forever 21 website had some good sales I thought on clothes that i liked. I refrained from buying (having never bought there before) because I thought there was some stigma that a 40 year old shouldn’t wear this brand of clothes. So on a whim, i searched ‘how old is too old to shop at forever 21’ to see what would come up. I read a few articles how people think Forever 21 should be a place where once you hit 25 you shouldn’t step foot in that store. I strongly disagree and this is not denial i’m fully aware of my 40+ status every day i see my gray hair! I think the main point is missing from all those articles…it’s not the store that should be avoided, it’s the ‘trendy’ styles they offer that should be avoided if your nearing 40. Right now it’s the furry vests…although even if i was 25 again i’m not sure i’d go for that.
If you stick to classic styles, they can be found anywhere including Forever 21. Once you start looking at the classic styles which are timeless that they have, you can get some really good deals on some really good pieces there.
Here are the items i choose that i absolutely love and glad I bought that don’t make me not look my age.
